About us

About Cultured Crafts

We are the bridge between a living craft and the shops, studios and homes that want it. Cultured Crafts works with women artisans in South Asia who hand-coil grass and date palm leaf into wall baskets, and we take care of everything a professional buyer needs: consistent quality, clear terms, export paperwork and delivery.

Why we exist

Skilled weavers often have no direct route to international buyers, and international buyers have little visibility into who makes what they sell. We fix both sides. Weavers get steady orders and fair, regular work they can do around family life. Buyers get a dependable supplier with a growing range, honest product information and someone who answers on WhatsApp.

What we stand for

  • Honesty. We say exactly what our baskets are, what they are made of and who makes them, including that they are not Native American-made.
  • Respect for the craft. We price for skilled handwork, not for speed, and we never ask weavers to compromise the technique.
  • Reliability. Clear quotes, written delivery dates, photos before dispatch and complete export documents.
  • Natural materials. Grass and palm leaf are renewable, and our packing keeps plastic to a minimum.

Who we work with

Our buyers include independent home décor shops, concept stores, online sellers, interior designers, hotels and restaurants, and importers who distribute to their own retail networks. Some take a mixed carton of 50 pieces a few times a year. Others develop exclusive colourways with us for their own brand.

Whichever you are, you’ll deal directly with the people who manage production. There is no middle layer between you and the workshop.
